Shirley Greene Smith

Shirley Greene Smith, 89, of Asheboro, died Thursday, August 29, 2024 at FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care in West End.  Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Candor Cemetery, with Pastor Scott Kidd officiating.

Born in Montgomery County on May 4,1935, she was the daughter of Arthur and Monnie Lamonds Greene.  She was a member of Candor Presbyterian Church and had worked at Samarcand Manor.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Smith.

Mrs. Greene is survived by her daughter, Beth King (Joe) of Asheboro; 2 sisters, Carol Chisholm of Candor and Texie Thomas of Candor; brother, Stanton Greene of Southern Pines; 2 grandchildren, Kaylee Key and Kendall Cole King.

Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
