Mrs. Shirley Harrison McDowell, age 76 of Euris Surratt Road, Denton, NC died Tuesday, December 15 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 19 at Alleghany United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Mrs. McDowell was born in Davidson County December 18, 1943. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband James McDowell on January 24, 1974. She was also preceded in death by parents, Euris Surratt and Lola H. Surratt and by brothers, Joe Don Surratt and Larry Surratt and by a sister Brenda Surratt. She is survived by her son, Darrell McDowell and fiancé Candice Willis of Archdale; brother Billy Surratt of Denton; grandchildren, Madison Willis and Nicole McDowell. Briggs Funeral Home is serving the McDowell Family.
