Shirley Barnes Kearns

Mrs. Shirley Barnes Kearns, age 76 of Spring Street, Denton, NC died Saturday, December 29 at her residence.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 3 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Chris Smith. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.   The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 2 at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence on Spring Street.   Mrs. Kearns was born March 17, 1942 in Davidson County to Lester Thomas Barnes and Melba Adelene Cook Barnes. She was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her grandparents Chester and Lola Cook.   She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Vernon Kearns of the home, a daughter Lisa Kearns of Lexington and grandchildren, Davin Ball and Brooke Ball.   Briggs Funeral Home is serving the Kearns Family.
