Shirley Grant Bryant, age 67, of Denton died Monday, March 18 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Bryant will be 2:00 pm Saturday, March 23 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Charlie Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday, prior to the service, at Briggs Funeral Home. Mrs. Bryant was born April 28, 1945 in Swain County, the daughter of Josie Grant. She had worked at Burlington Industries. She was preceded in death by her mother, husband James C. Bryant, son, Donald Bryant, grandson, James Curtis Bryant, III and great-grandson, Conley Hoffner. She is survived by two sons, James Curtis Bryant, Jr. and wife Janie of Salisbury and David Allen Bryant and wife Teesha of Denton, one daughter Carolyn Bryant of Rockwell, one sister Ruby Mae Crook of Asheville, seven grandchildren, Amanda Gray, John Bryant, Matthew Bryant, Abel Bryant, Ashley Hoffner, Zachary Bryant and Johnathan Bryant and four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Nolan, Ryan and Hailey.
