Shirley Hudson Blake

Shirley Hudson Blake, 84, formerly of Mt. Gilead, died Monday, December 20, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church, with Rev. Billy Glover and Rev. Glenn Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Montgomery County on July 4, 1937, the daughter of Louis and Ina Mae Ingram Hudson. She was a homemaker, and a member of Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church. She loved to crochet, do beadwork making jewelry and general craftmaking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Blake, Jr, and two sons, Galene Blake and Raymond Blake. Mrs. Blake is survived by her daughter, Jeanene Robinson of Candor; two brothers, Michael Hudson and Dwight Hudson, both of Mt. Gilead; 8 Grandchildren, Kayla Sasser, Nicole Blake, Heather Morton, Brandy Finkel, Daniel Robinson, Mark Robinson, Alan Robinson and Dana Crook; 16 Great-grandchildren. The Blake family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
