Sherry Diane Tysinger

Sherry Diane Tysinger, 71, of Old Camp Rd., Denton, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 10, 2025. Born on August 17, 1953, in Davidson County to the late James Luther Tysinger and the late Laura “Ettie” Baker Tysinger, Sherry was a beloved member of her community.

She was a graduate of Ashmore Business College and a dedicated member of Summerville Baptist Church. Sherry worked as the manager of the Tank and Tummy on highway 49 until her retirement. She was known for her love of traveling, reading, crafting, scrapbooking, and baking cakes. Sherry had a generous spirit, often creating care packages for those in need.

Sherry is survived by her daughter, Kristal S. Osborne and husband Mark of Lexington; sons, James Sullivan and fiancée Mae Hayman of Denton, and Justin Sullivan and wife Alecia of Denton. She also leaves behind her sisters, Phyllis Tysinger Hughes of Lexington and Nancy Tysinger Tate of Denton; five grandchildren, Austin Sullivan, Sarah Kiger (Dylan), Daniel Sullivan, Caleb Sullivan, and Laura Osborne; as well as her niece, Jennifer Hughes Chapman (Brandon), and nephew, Jonathan Hughes (Michelle).

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 16 at Summerville Baptist Church, with Rev. Thomas Frizzell and Rev. Flynn Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

Sherry will be remembered as someone who loved life and cherished every moment with her family. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Mountain Vista Health Park for their care and love shown to Sherry.
