Sherrill Denise Goodwin

Mrs. Sherrill Denise Hicks Goodwin, age 46 of Edgehill Road, New Bern, NC and a former resident of Denton died Monday, Sept. 10 at her residence. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Melvin Morton. Mrs. Goodwin was born May 8, 1961 in Davidson County to Sherrill Hicks and Frances Marie Watts Hicks. She was a graduate of East Davidson High School and for 14 years had owned and operated Denise Goodwin Daycare. She was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her husband Timothy Louis (Tim) Goodwin of the Home, by daughters, Ashley Goodwin and Dana Goodwin both of the home and Lori Melvin and husband Wayne of New Bern, by her father Sherrill Hicks of Lexington, a brother Johnny Hicks of New Bern, sisters Kellie Krafft of Winston-Salem and Amanda Thompkins of Lexington and grandchildren, Jordyn Hope Goodwin, Abigail Lynn Melvin, Kaitlyn Denise Melvin, Malorie Lane Melvin, Timothy Austin Melvin and Samantha Melvin. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of the father at 199 Adams Way, (Cid Community), Lexington, NC
