Shelly Ellington Graham, age 83 of West End, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Penick Village in Southern Pines. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at Marcus United Methodist Church, with Rev. Donald Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. A native of Vance County, Mrs. Graham was born July 4, 1924, the daughter of Budd and Nancy Grissom Ellington. Mrs. Graham graduated from Mills Home in Thomasville, NC and later graduated from York County Hospital in Rock Hill SC as a registered nurse. She served in the Army Air Corps as a registered nurse before going to work in the operating room at Moore County Hospital. She later worked at Sandhills Nursing Home and retired from St. Joseph of the Pines. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Tarrell Benford Graham, Sr. in 2003. She is survived by a daughter, Macy G. McKenzie and husband Danny of Lexington, SC; 2 sons, Benford Graham and wife Patricia and Daniel Graham and wife Nancy, all of West End; 7 Grandchildren, Lauren McKenzie, Elizabeth Garner and husband Arron, Heather Graham, Ryan Graham, Tarrell Graham III, Emily Curran and husband Neal, and Mary Graham-Elmore and husband Trent; 6 Great-grandchildren, Chandler, Jillian and Graham Garner, William Curran V, Samuel Graham and Blake Elmore. Many loving nephews and nieces, especially Jeannie Donaldson. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
