Scott Hughes

Mr. William Scott Hughes, age 47, of Yates Road, Denton N.C. passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A funeral service will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2022 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton with Rev. Brian Workman officiating.

Mr. Hughes was born May 11, 1975 in Forsyth County to Lindsay Hughes and Wadine Gallimore Hughes. Scott loved hunting and fishing with his father.  He was a long haul Truck Driver. Scott was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his mother, Wadine Hughes of Denton; 8 brothers & sisters, Rita Hedrick, Lindsay Hughes, Mickey Hughes (Teresa), Ricky Hughes (Vickie), Michael Hughes, Daniel Hughes, Beverly Macias (Rick) and Jean Mcfayden (James); 10 nieces & nephews, Stacie Hedrick, Tracie Sheffield, Toni Whittaker, Kimberly Hughes, Jennifer Owens, Benny Hughes, Randy Owens, Tonya Mcfayden, Jamie Owens and Laura Hughes; 13 great nieces & nephews, Bailey Sheffield, Jaeda Williams, Bristol Peeler, Elanor Whittaker, William Whittaker, Peyton Smith, Addison Smith, Gavin Mcdowell, Haven Byrd, Jason Byrd, Braxton Owens, Chase Owens and Brooklyn Carter.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home and other times at the home of Beverly Macias.
