Sara Lou Leach Thompson

Sara Lou Leach Thompson, 83, of Leach Rd., Candor, died Saturday, May 18, 2019 at her residence.  Graveside Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Rev. Matthew Baker officiating.   Born in Montgomery County on June 3, 1935, she was the daughter of Ervin and Ollie Settle Leach.  She was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Troy Chapter 329.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Thompson in 1997 and a brother, James W. Leach.   She is survived by her daughter, Ann T. Parsons (Dale) of Troy; son, Sidney Malcolm “Mickey” Thompson of Candor; 2 sisters, Scarlett Leach of Candor and Becky Roach (Corky) of Albemarle; 4 grandchildren, Leslie Parsons Shoffner (Matthew) of Troy, Anna Parsons of Troy, Jordan Thompson of Atlanta GA, and Lauren Thompson of Atlanta GA; 2 great-grandchildren, Reed Sanders and Sydnie Sanders, both of Troy.   The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence.   Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 1024 Albemarle Rd., Suite 904, Troy NC  27371 or to the Kitchen Fund, Macedonia Presbyterian Church, PO Box 340, Candor NC  27229.   Briggs-Candor Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
