Sandy Lewis

Mrs. Sandra “Sandy” Amstutz Lewis, 53, Wynona Dr., Denton, NC passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, at Thomasville Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Flynn Richardson. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

Sandy was born July 31, 1968, in Transylvania County, NC to Michael “Mike” Irby and Fran Osborne Irby. Sandy obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse specializing in Dialysis and was a member of True Worship Church where she enjoyed singing. Sandy was an avid reader, known as a gracious host always hosting the family gatherings, and was a great cook. She was dedicated to her profession as well as her family. She was willing to help anyone in need and was a friend to all. Preceding her in death was her father, Mike Irby.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Bill Lewis, Jr. of the home; son, Ethan Amstutz of the home; daughter, Ashley Amstutz of the home; mother, Fran Irby of Denton; brother, David Irby (Rebecca) of Denton; Sister-in-Law, Leigh Griffin (James) of Denton; niece, Katie Williams; nephews, Dustin Rosenbaum (Emily), Joshua Irby, Caleb Irby (Kendra), and Chris Williams (Lexi); great-nephews, Zeke and Caleb, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
