Samuel Haywood Mcneill

July 11, 1931 — February 15, 2020

Mr. Samuel Haywood McNeill, 88, of S. McCallum St., Candor, NC passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held be held at Macedonia Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 1:00 PM    with Rev. Gary Mason officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM the church prior to the service

Mr. McNeill was born July 11, 1931 in Guilford County to A. C. McNeill and Rosa Parsons McNeill. Samuel was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church, a member of the masonic lodge and was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents Samuel was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Blake McNeill on December 11, 2019 and his sister, Rebecca McNeill High.

He is survived by sons, Mark B. McNeill (Libby) of High Point and Coy S. McNeill (Cindy) of Greensboro; daughter, Joanna McNeill Mason (Gary) of Asheboro; brother, George W. McNeill of Candor; 3 grandchildren, Katie McNeill, Caleb Mason (Dana), and Allison Koontz (Wesley); 1 great-grandchild, Jensen Koontz.

Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice.
