Ruth Field Thompson

Mrs. Ruth Field Thompson, 85, of Privette Rd., Candor, died Thursday, November 1, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.  Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Candor Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Steve Jarman officiating.  Burial will follow in the Candor Town Cemetery.   Born August 6, 1933 in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of Archie W. Field and Jennie Paul Field Harrell.  She was a bookkeeper.  She was preceded in death by her son, Marshall Thompson, Jr. in 2001.   She is survived by her husband, John Marshall Thompson, Sr. of the home; brother, Pete Harrell of Rockingham; 2 sisters, Mary Harrell of Waxhaw NC and Faith Harrell of Dunmore PA; 2 grandsons.   The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM Saturday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Candor Baptist Church, PO Box 614, Candor NC  27229.   Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
