Ruth Dickens Rushing

Lola Ruth Dickens Rushing, 93, formerly of Troy-Candor Rd., Biscoe, died Wednesday at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 27, 2104 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Vuncannon, Rev. Daniel Rushing and Dr. Marion Poythress officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Rushing was born July 6, 1921 in Montgomery County, the daughter of Edward and Willie Hicks Dickens. She was a retired CNA from Autumn Care in Biscoe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren D. Rushing in 2003. She is survived by 2 sons, Stephen Rushing and wife Loretta of Troy, and Phillip Rushing and wife Ingrid of Biscoe; a daughter, Ann Morgan and husband Jack of Biscoe; a sister, Frances Poole of Troy; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
