Ruth Cole

Ms. Ruth Elizabeth Cole, 100, formerly of Lick Creek Church Rd. passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Carillon Assisted Living in Fuquay-Varina.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Thursday, Jan. 31 at Lick Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Steve Kiger and Rev. Hulin Pait officiating.

Ms. Cole was born November 22, 1918 to Albert Milton Cole and Freda Morgan Cole. She was a member of Lick Creek Baptist Church. Ruth graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with her bachelor's degree and then she later graduated from the University of North Carolina with her master’s degree in Education. She taught school in Rowan, Mecklenburg, and Stanly counties. Ruth will be remembered as a centenarian, educator, artist, and a beloved aunt,

In addition to her parents Ms. Cole was also preceded in death by her brother, Albert Brooks Cole, Sr.

She is survived by her sister, Virginia Cole Johnson of Fuquay-Varina.

In lieu of flowers memorials should be made to Lick Creek Baptist Church in c/o Kathy Cottrell 1367 Cole Rd. Denton, NC 27239.
