Ruth Buie

Ruth Lambeth Buie, age 89 formerly of Denton Rd., Denton died Monday, November 07, 2011 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, Nov. 9 at Summerville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Daniel and Rev. James Cooper. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will see friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of the daughter Cherry Surratt on Denton Rd. Mrs. Buie was born January 17, 1922 in Davidson County to Walter Lambeth and Dora Byerly Lambeth. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Austin Buie, Sr., daughter, Connie B. Walker, by brothers, Edmond, Austin, Odell, Carl, and Albert Lambeth, also by her sisters Beatrice Beane, and Juanita Hulin Mrs. Buie is survived by sons; Clarence Austin Buie, Jr.and wife Saundra of Denton and Bobby Joe Buie, daughters; Vonnie B. Steed and husband Gerald of Denton, Cherry B. Surratt and husband Rick of Denton, grandchildren; Kevin Walker, Tonia Benton, Shawn Buie, Jana Steed, Michelle Yates, and Amber Dillard, great-great grandchildren; Logan Buie, Austin Benton, Brayton Buie, Kaylan and Jayden Dillard, and Eli and Lily Yates.
