Ruby Ward

Mrs. Ruby Frank Harris Ward, age 95 of NC Hwy # 47, Denton, NC died Thursday, May 14 at Thomasville Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 17 at New Jerusalem United Church of Christ conducted by Rev. Jimmy Norred. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home. Mrs. Ward was born November 24, 1919 in Davidson County to Phillip Ashley Frank and Minnie Jane Workman Frank. She was a retired employee of Edgewood Casuals and was a member of New Jerusalem United Church of Christ and of the Women’s Guild of the Church. She was first married to Emsley Lee Harris who died in 1961,she later married Dallas Ward who died in 2004. She was also preceded in death by daughters, Linda Lee Harris and Phyllis Harris Lambeth and by a grandchild Lee Bullaboy. She is survived by a son, J. Hoyt Harris and wife Doris and Denton; daughter Loretta Zumbach and husband Art of Durham; step-daughter Paulette Badgett and husband Harrry (Chip) of Denton; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
