Mrs. Ruby Garner Rash, age 89 of Old Camp Road, Denton, NC died Friday, October 19 at Thomasville Medical Center in Thomasville. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 22 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Elder John Draper and Elder David Anderson. Burial will follow at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Rash was born December 21, 1917 in Davidson County to Nereus Alson Garner and Connie Maryanne Snider Garner. She was a member of Pine Primitive Baptist Church and was a retired Hosiery Mill employee and homemaker. She loved her home , her flowers, people and her church. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 5 brothers and 2 grandchildren. Mrs. Rash is survived by her husband Ira Evans (Bill) Rash of the home, sons Gary Lee Rash and wife Anita of Thomasville; Phillip Ray Rash and wife Shelby of Indian Trail; Charles Evans Rash and wife Jane of Lexington; Daughters Deane McDowell and husband Ted of Trinity and Myra Younts of Taylorsville. By brothers Lester Garner of Mt. Gilead, Nolan Garner of Lexington, Von Garner, N. A. Garner and James Garner all of Denton. Sisters, Patty Misenheimer of Burlington and Gayle Lamb of Shelby. Step-brothers, Don Shaw of Thomasville and Ken Shaw of Denton and Step-sister Anna Mae Burleson of Belksville, Maryland. Seven (7) Grandchildren and Fourteen (14) Great Grandchildren. The family will see friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Old Camp Road.
