Roy Lee Myers

Roy Lee Myers, 93, of Biscoe, died Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Autumn Care of Biscoe.  A Memorial Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022 at First Baptist Church Biscoe.

Born in Montgomery County on June 21, 1929, he was the son of Robert Lee and Minnie McLeod Myers.  He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church Biscoe and a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War.  He was a retired educator having taught at Candor for over 30 years.  Roy attended Pfieffer College and later graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 1958.  He was also the boys basketball coach in Candor and a member of the Lions Club. Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Carol McAlister Myers in 2020, 3 brothers, Robert, J.C. and Carl, and a sister, Catherine Fox Thomas.

He is survived by 2 sons, Roy L. Myers, Jr. and wife Barbara Ezechel Myers and John R. Myers and a grandson, Roy L. Myers III (Trey).
