Roy Oscar Hill, age 90, of Hill Rd., Lexington died Thursday, February 09, 2012 at Lexington Health Care. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 11 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Brian Workman and Rev. Billy Joe Yates. Interment will follow at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hill was born May 7, 1921 in Davidson County to James Corbett Hill and Vellie Lambeth Hill. He worked for the City of Thomasville Public Works Department and attended Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Hill is survived by his wife; Helen Barringer Hill of the home, son; Roy Kenneth Hill and wife Martha of Lexington, daughter; Rachel Hill Johnson and husband Donald of Trinity, sisters; Freda Hepler and Ruby Beck both of Thomasville, 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of his daughter on Loflin-Hill Rd. Trinity.
