Roy Parks Hayes

Mr. Roy Parks Hayes, age 84, of Daniel Road, Denton died Thursday, November 4 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton following a period of declining health. Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Saturday, November 6 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Ward and Rev. Johnny Gobble officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 pm, prior to the service, at the church. Mr. Hayes was born December 23, 1925 in Wilkes County to Roy and Effie Campbell Hayes. He was former manager of Sink Tire and Recapping in Lexington and was of the Baptist faith. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Alene Hopkins Hayes of the home, one son, Michael Hayes of South Carolina, one daughter, Cynthia Hayes of Lexington, one sister Stella Costner of Moravian Falls, two step-daughters, Aweilda Little Williams of Asheboro and Melody Martin Meachum of Lexington
