Roy Lee Campbell

Mr. Roy Lee Campbell, 90, of Candor, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. Campbell was born September 2, 1927 in Montgomery County, a son of the late D. E. and Maggie May Glascoe Campbell. His family was originally tobacco farmers, evolving eventually to cotton and then poultry. Surviving are his wife, Laruth Bean Campbell of the home; children, Janelle Carmichael (Larry) of Sparta, NC, Cheryl Gable of West End, NC, and Barry Von Campbell (Eve) of Morganton, NC; 7 grandchildren, Tanya, Mary, Rachelle, Richard, Candice, Lyn, and Von, Jr.; 9 great grandchildren, Bethany, Madison, Everett, Audrey, Lucas, Dani, Lani, Englani and Serenity and a sister, Ruby Sales. Graveside services will be at 3pm Thursday at Candor Cemetery with Rev. Pete Smith officiating. The family will see friends from 1:30 – 2:30 pm Thursday at Briggs Candor Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
