Rosalie Kellis Mcneill

Mrs. Rosalie Kellis McNeill age 86, of S. School St. Candor passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, Dec. 30, at Briggs Candor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Joyce and Rev. Don Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Candor Cemetery. Mrs. McNeill was born August 12, 1930 in Montgomery County to Clyde and Sadye Whitlock Kellis. She was a graduate of High Point University where she was a member of the Women’s Basketball Team and she received her Master’s Degree from UNC-Charlotte. Rosalie taught special education for many years and after her retirement became a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Eagle Springs United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. McNeill was preceded in death by a brother, Jerrold Kellis. Surviving are husband, George McNeill of the home; sons, Charles W. McNeill (Kimberly) of Candor and John McNeill of Raleigh; daughter, Carolyn Needham (Henry) of Seagrove; brother, Roger Kellis of La Grange, KY; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the residence on S. School St. in Candor. Briggs Candor Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. McNeill.
