Roosevelt "Pete" Jernigan

Roosevelt “Pete” Jernigan, age 74 of Denton died Monday, August 29 at Grace Health Care in Winston-Salem. Funeral service for Mr. Jernigan will be 2:00 pm Thursday, September 1 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Arnold Comer officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton Mr. Jernigan was born January 1, 1937 in South Carolina to James Montgomery and Minnie Hodges Jernigan. He had worked for Burlington Industries and Lexington Home Brands and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Milliken Jernigan on October 25, 1999, daughter, Kimberly Dawn Jernigan on February 14, 1996 and grandson, Jackson Dale Jernigan on January 6, 2004. He is survived by one son, Billy Jernigan of the home, one brother, James Jernigan of Denton, two sisters, Irene Stroud of Mullins, South Carolina and Dolly Leonard of Denton and one granddaughter.
