Ronnie Newsom

Ronnie Joe Newsom, age 82, of Denton died Sunday, July 12th at Forsyth Medical Center. He took pride in his summer garden, selling tomatoes locally. Ronnie enjoyed visiting the flea markets each week. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries in 2004, with 48 years of service. He also loved his church family, being a member of the Denton Wesleyan Church. Ronnie was born December 1, 1937 and was preceded in death by his parents; Marshall Corbett Newsom and Jessie Cleo Henderson Newsom, sisters; Dorothy Newsom Hegler, Evon Newsom Galinskas, and Maxine Newsom Parrish, brothers; (Twin) Donnie Ray Newsom and Marshall Clarence (Cotton) Newsom. He is survived by his wife, Louise Manns Newsom. They were married on June 8, 1957, for 62 yrs. He is also survived by two daughters, Michelle Whitlock and husband Sam; Lisa Brewer and husband Johnny; grandchildren Gabriel Whitlock and wife Kelly, Colbey Garrison and husband David, and Jordan Taylor and husband Wes; great grandchildren, Jackson Whitlock, Daniel Whitlock, Emma Garrison, Annie Garrison, and Reid Taylor. A memorial service service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020 at the open air Pavilion at Denton Wesleyan Church. Inurnment will be held privately in the church cemetery.
