Roger Lynn Newsom

Mr. Roger Lynn Newsom, age 60, of Cress Rd., Lexington, NC died Friday, January 27, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. Born in Forsyth County on July 11, 1956, he was the son of William and Annie Douglas Newsom. He was employed with Councill Craftsman in Denton for 36 years. He is survived by 4 sisters, Elizabeth “Libby” Hughes (Roy Gene) of Denton, Patty Jean Flinchum (Bobby) of Seagrove, Deborah Jones of Asheboro, and Annette Robinnette (Larry) of Asheboro; 2 brothers, James Newsome of Lexington and Ricky Newsome of Cedar Falls; 5 nephews, 6 nieces; 7 great-nephews and 3 great-nieces. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Briggs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
