Roger Lee Freeman, Sr., 66 of Reservation Rd., Troy, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 3:30 PM Sunday at Lomax Memorial Baptist Church with Revs. Hawk Owens and Chip Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Montgomery County on August 8, 1948, he was the son of Cecil and Edith Twitty Freeman. He was a mechanic. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Thomas Freeman of the home; 2 sons, Roger Freeman, Jr. and Archie Freeman, both of Troy; 3 daughters, Janice Inez Collins of Denton, and Judy Varner and Crystal Welch, both of Troy; brothers, Darrell Freeman of Troy and Jimmy Freeman of Morganton; 3 sisters, Peggy Lynthacum of Troy, Jean Haywood of Star and Shirley Callicutt of Troy; 22 Grandchildren; 15 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM prior to the service on Sunday at Lomax Memorial Baptist Church. Briggs Funeral Home of Troy is in charge of arrangements.
