Rocky Hamby

Mr. Rocky Ray Hamby, age 53 of Denton, NC, died Saturday, June 20 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte from injuries received in a work related accident. A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, June 25 at the White House at Badin Lake, 286 Badin Shore Circle, New London, NC conducted by Rev. Kelly Creekmur. The family will receive friends at the residence at other times Mr. Hamby was born August 13, 1961 in Davidson County. He was employed with Griffin Masonry of Mint Hill. He was preceded in death by step-fathers, Boyd Hamby and Richard Smith. He is survived by his wife, Mitzi Loflin Hamby of the home, a son Trevor Hamby of the home; his mother, Rebecca (Becky) Hamby of Lexington; brothers, Mitchel Hamby of Lexington and Command Master Chief Jimmy Smith of Elizabeth City; sister-in-law, Sheila Floyd of Denton; brother-in-laws, Keith Loflin and Kevin Loflin both of Denton. Briggs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
