Roby Morris

Roby Branson Morris, age 80, of Broad St., Denton died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 3:30 PM Friday, January 20, at Central United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Benny Clodfelter. Interment will follow in the Denton Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Prior to the service at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence. Mr. Morris was born May 23, 1931 in Davidson County to Walter Banks Morris and Ella Carroll Morris. He worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Denton, was a veteran of the US Navy, and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Mr. Morris was preceded in death by brothers, Banks and Kemp Morris, and sister, Nan Fine. Survivors include, wife Diza Rogers Morris of the home, son; W. Michael Morris and wife Donna of Denton, daughter; Ella Denese Morris O’Hara and husband Patrick of Asheboro, sister; Ann Carlton and husband Jerry of Mayodan, grandchildren; Branson Patrick O’Hara, Ryan Jacob O’Hara, Miranda Kathleen Morris and Levi Michael Morris.
