Robert "Bob" Wood

Mr. Robert “Bob” Bently Wood, 90, of N. Main St., Denton, NC passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, Oct.17, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Smith and Mr. Keith Garner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors.

Bob was born September 27, 1931 in Davidson County the son of, Farest Wood and Vera Wood. After high school Mr. Wood served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge from the Air Force Bob entered into trade school to become a barber for a career that spanned over 60 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Garner Wood.

He is survived by son, Robbie Wood and wife Amanda of Denton; daughter, Andrea Wood Duncan and husband Daryll of Denton; sister, Doris Walsh of Greensboro; brother-in-law, Bobby Garner and wife Tami of Winston Salem; 3 grandchildren, Ashley, Caroline, and Payton; 4 great-grandchildren, William, Ashton, Emma, and Wyatt; honorary granddaughter, London Hayes.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church prior to the service and other times at the residence.
