Robert Charles Tews

Mr. Robert Charles Tews, age 86, of Farmer Denton Road, Denton, NC died Tuesday, December 1 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, December 4 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Dr. Jonathan Burris. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Those attending are ask to please wear a Mask. Mr. Tews will lie in state at Briggs Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Thursday. His family will see friends at the residence. Mr. Tews was born March 17, 1934 in Guilford County to Karl Junius Tews and Lola Mae Wilson Tews. He had a long career in the furniture manufacturing industry, having last worked at Lank’s of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Fannie Mae Taylor Tews and by son, Julius Sherrrill Tews and Hugh B. Tews. He is survived by his wife, Susan Temples Tews of the home; daughters, Monica D. Tews of Banner Elk, Gail Reineke, Kay Jones and husband Larry all of Denton; grandchildren, Brandon Woodard, Jonathan Burris, Joni Cook, Michelle Jones and Daniel Jones; 13 great grandchildren.
