Candor-Robert Liles Robert Lee Liles, Jr., 90, of Candor, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Manor Care in Pinehurst. Graveside Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 at Candor Cemetery. A native of Montgomery County, Mr. Liles was born Dec. 20, 1918, the son of Robert Lee Liles and Crota Allen. He was a veteran of the US Army and was a co-founder of Candor Hosiery Mill, serving 41 years in the hosiery industry. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Lewis Liles; 3 sons, Robert Lee Liles,III of California, William Paul Liles of Hamlet and James Lewis Liles of Troy; 2 brothers, Henry Van Liles of Morganton and Glenn Allen Liles of Charlotte.; 3 grandchildren; 2 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor. Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor’s choice
