Robert Lee Hearne

Robert Lee Hearne, 79, of Candor, NC passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Atrium Health Hospice and Palliative Care of Union County. Born on July 8, 1947, in Moore County the son of Henry Lee Hearne and Mary Catherine Briggs Hearne.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 21, at Candor Town Cemetery with military honors.

Mr. Hearne proudly served in the United States Army earning a Bronze Star Medal during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Department of Corrections as a Captain after 30 years, then went to work for FirstHealth as a courier for 12 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, George and Reece Hearne.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lee Jackson Hearne; sons, Phillip Hearne and his wife Christa and Joel Hearne and his wife Christy; his daughter, Teresa Hearne Parsons; brother, Herbert Hearne; his sister, Edna Hearne White; grandchildren, Callie Allred (Stephen), Lindsey Buccos (Dakota), Gracie Hearne, Katherine Parsons Stephens (Hunter), Sara Sasser (Ethan), and Lauryn Hearne; and 10 great-grandchildren.
