Robert Bruton

Mr. Robert Leonard Bruton, 86, of Bruton Dr., Candor, died Friday, December 24, 2010 at Autumn Care in Biscoe. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Parson’s Grove UMC, where he was a member, with Rev. Bill Mitchell and Rev. William Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Bruton Family Cemetery. Born on October 16, 1924 in Montgomery County, he was the son of Redick and Nealie Batten Bruton. He was a farmer and was preceded in death by his wife Lucille in 2009 and his son, Edwin Bruton in 2002. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Bruton is survived by his daughter, Dottie Bruton Robinson and husband Danny of Troy and a sister, Vancy Scott of Huntersville; 6 Grandchildren; 11 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
