Robert Allen

Robert Webb Allen, 81, of NC HWY 109 North, Troy, NC (Eldorado Community) died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his residence. . A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 12 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Michael Swofford. Inurnment will follow at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Allen was born February 13, 1930 in Montgomery County to Causey W. Allen and Lula Russell Allen. He was a graduate of Troy High School class of 1948, Pfeiffer Junior College class of 1950, and High Point College class of 1952. He was retired school teacher having taught 30 years at both Farmer School and Southwestern Randolph School. He was a member of Center United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U S Army. His hobbies included collecting antiques, carpentry and maintaining the Heritage Museum in Eldorado for 50 years. He was preceded in death by a sister Lula Belle Finlay and a brother John Howard Allen. He is survived by his wife, Alda Floyd Allen of the home; a son, Robert (Monty) Allen of Troy, and a sister, Lillian A. Overton and husband Max of Troy. The family will see friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and at other times will be at the residence on NC Hwy # 109 N.
