Rillie Hunt Yates

Mrs. Rillie Hunt Yates, age 81, of Denton died Wednesday, November 12 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. Funeral service for Mrs. Yates will be at 2:00 pm Friday, November 14 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton with Rev. Billy Joe Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Union Community Church Cemetery where she was a member. Mrs. Yates was born December 13, 1926 in Davidson County to Theophus and Julie Garner Hunt. She had worked in the cafeteria at Tabernacle Elementary School and at Thornton Hosiery in Denton. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph M. Yates who died January 12, 1997. Mrs. Yates is survived by sons, Dennis Yates and Dalton Yates, both of Denton and a daughter Brenda Yates of Eagle Springs, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of the son, Dennis on Jackson Creek Rd.
