Richard Paul Stutts, 86, of Jackson Springs, died Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his residence after a lengthy illness. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, with Mr. Steve Cox and Rev. Steve Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery in Candor. Born October 30, 1932 in Montgomery County, the son of William Chesley “W.C.” and Della Liles Stutts. He had worked at J.P. Stevens Gulistan and was a prison guard at Morrison Correctional. Mr. Stutts is survived by his wife, Leila Carrico Stutts; son, Richard Donald Stutts of Fayetteville; 2 daughters, Beth Stutts Blake (Tommy) of Candor and Paula Kay Stutts Tyler of Seven Lakes; 6 grandchildren, Chesley Blake, Dusty Blake, Lee Russell, Hunter Stutts, Alex Allen and Ronnie Kay Roark; 6 Great-granddaughters, Mia Blake, Isabella Blake, Macy Blake, Annika Blake and Brooklyn Blake. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service Wednesday at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, after the burial at Blake’s Restaurant in Candor, and other times at the residence on Rose Ridge Rd.
