Richard Grewell, Sr.

Richard Dean Grewell, Sr., 71, of E. Salisbury St. Denton passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, Feb. 25 at Free Pilgrim Church where he was a member with Rev. Steven Manley presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at Free Pilgrim Church.

Mr. Grewell was born August 18, 1947 in Newcomerstown, Ohio to John Grewell and Hannah Plants Grewell. Mr. Grewell was a retired minister and former president of Seneca Holiness Camp in Seneca, Missouri. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay Ellis Grewell; grandson, Bruce Hastings, and several siblings.

He is survived by son, Richard Grewell, Jr. of Denton; daughters, Tammy Rogers of Denton and Judy Cox and husband Eric of Gold Hill; sisters, Mary Campbell of Ohio, Alice Morgan of Oklahoma, and Thelma Sinclair of Ohio; brothers, Walter Grewell of Ohio and Victor Grewell of Florida;  6 grandchildren, Eric Weicht, Jeffrey Haltom, Dustin Cox, Trina Trexler, Richard Grewell III, and Ashley Grewell; 8 great-grandchildren, Emrik Weicht, Annabelle Pressley, Elliot Weicht, Nathan Haltom, Natalie Perry, Seth Trexler, Tanner Grewell, and Braden Grewell.
