Mr. Richard Lee Graves, 88 of Handy Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, November 30 at Concord Place Assisted Living in Concord. A memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 7 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Derald Smith. Inurnment with Military Honors will be at Lineberry United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday, at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of the Daughter on Handy Road, Denton. Mr. Graves was born Randolph County March 8, 1931. He attended North Carolina State University where he obtained a degree in Textile Engineering. He was a veteran of the U S Airforce serving during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Burlington Industries for 15 years and later was self employed selling Solar Heating Systems. He was a member of Lineberry United Methodist Church and had attended Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church. He was married to Alletta Daniels Graves who died March 14, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his Mother Emily Graves Callicutt and by a grandson Ronald Frank Pleasants, III. He is survived by daughters, Rosemary G Cranford and husband Mike of Denton; LeAnna Graves and partner Kathy Coyle of Lenoir; brother James Lewis Callicutt of Asheboro; grandchildren, Rebekah Pleasants Waller and husband Jonathon, Emily Pleasants Morrison and husband Ryan and Morgan Pleasants; great grandchildren, Dakota Waller, Eli Morrison, Riley Morrison and Parker Morrison.
