Richard Wayne Beck, passed away at the age of 83 on Friday, October 3, 2025, at his residence in Clemmons, North Carolina, previously residing in Lexington. Born on September 15, 1942, in Cumberland County, NC, Richard lived a life marked by service, integrity, and a profound commitment to those he cherished.

Richard's professional journey included his role as a cutter at Acme Face Veneer, where he contributed to the quality and craftsmanship that defined the furniture industry. His legacy of service extended well beyond his career; he was a charter member of the Healing Springs Fire Department, dedicating a total of 46 years to the department, including 21 years as Chief. His leadership and devotion to the community were exemplary, ensuring safety and support for many.

An active member of Floyd Baptist Church, Richard's faith was an integral part of his life. He was also known as an enthusiastic outdoorsman, with a passion for fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy moments of peace and reflection.

Richard's military service in the United States Marine Corps instilled in him values of discipline and commitment, which he carried into all aspects of his life.

He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Surviving him are his daughter Lanny Krause and her husband Kevin; grandchildren Kaleb and Kierstyn Krause; brother Johnny Beck; sisters Selma Hannah Loflin and Diane Houck; special nephew Jason Beck; as well as great nephews Wyatt and Garrett Beck and great niece Katelyn Graham.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann "Sissy" Fritts Beck, along with his parents, James Walter Beck and Leila Mae Burgess Beck, and brothers David, J.W., and Jack Beck. He also mourned the loss of his sisters Mary Chaffin, Aline Misenhiemer, and Margaret Beck.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Floyd Baptist Church, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be at the home of Jason Beck on Frank Stoner Rd. in Lexington.

Richard Wayne Beck's legacy of service, love, and commitment serves as an enduring inspiration to all who knew him. His contributions to his family, community, and church will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
