Rebecca Luther

Mrs. Rebecca Davis ( Becky) Luther, age 98 of Asheboro, NC died Wednesday, June 24 at Woodland Hills Center in Asheboro. A private graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 27 at Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Bobby Lorton. Mrs. Luther was born June 4, 1922 in Davidson County to Calvin Matthew Davis and Willa Mae Cranford Davis. She attended Asheboro High School and was Homemaker. In retirement years she worked part time with her son at Richard’s Home and Garden Center in Asheboro. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for 30 years and had been a choir member. She was married to Joe E Luther, Sr for 65 years until his death December 25, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her son, Rev. Joe E Luther, Jr. and by sisters Juanita Fitch, Mildred Williams and Virginia White. She is survived by her son, Richard Luther of Asheboro; grandsons, Joe Luther, III, Richard Luther, Jr. and Michael Luther; 5 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
