Rebecca Loflin

    Mrs. Rebecca Hoover Loflin, age 83 of NC Hwy # 109 South, Denton, NC died Saturday, January 20 at her residence.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 24 at Alleghany United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Lucas. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.   The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 23 at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.   Mrs. Loflin was born February 16, 1934 in Randolph County to Andrew Dewey and Vernie Quinie Blackwood Hoover. She was raised in the Back Creek community, attending Back Creek Friends Meeting as a child and went to Farmer High School. She was a member of Alleghany United Methodist Church where she was a children’s Sunday School Teacher. Becky and her husband Reid worked for many years at Bisher’s Hosiery Mill in addition to owning and operation Loflin Mop Shop. She retired from Councill Craftsman Furniture Company. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband Reid Loflin; her daughter Kathy Loflin Hedrick and brothers Lloyd and Herman Hoover.   She is survived by her son-in-law, Donnie Hedrick and his wife Robin; grandchildren Erin Hedrick Joyce and husband Michael of Lexington, David Hedrick and wife Courtney of Back Creek Community; sisters, Margaret Blake and husband Paul of Franklinville, Mabel Horton and husband Bob, Cleo Auman and husband Gene all of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alleghany United Methodist Church, 20219 Alleghany Church Road, Denton, NC 27239 of South Davidson Family Resource Center, PO Box 1197, Denton, NC 27239     Online condolences may be made at www.briggsfuneralhome.com
