Ray Bivens

  Mr. Walter Ray Bivens, 76, of Flat Swanp Rd. Denton passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Flynn Richardson and Rev. Mike Motley presiding. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Bivens was born October 8, 1941 in Davidson County to Walter Bivens and Minnie Owens Bivens. He had been employed with Burlington Industries. Ray was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. Surviving is wife, Nell Brewer Bivens of the home; daughter, Raylene Morris and husband Ricky of Denton; god-daughters, Becky Arthur and husband Vince of Denton and Pam Osman and husband Bill of Alabama; grandchildren, Dana Morris and Eric Morris and wife Ginger of Denton; and special member of extended family, Marsha Daniel and husband Fran of Asheboro.
