Raeford Glover

C. Raeford Glover, age 82, of Johnson Rd., Denton died Wednesday evening, November 4 at his home. Funeral service for Mr. Glover will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 7 at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ralph Gaines, Rev. Billy Joe Yates and Rev. Steve McSwain officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Glover was born October 31, 1927 in Davidson County to Ralston and Nellie Gallimore Glover. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp and had worked with the U. S. Post Office in Thomasville. He had served as chairman of the Grounds Committee at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Glover had great knowledge of and passion for the Denton area heritage. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother, Nellie Gallimore Glover Snider and brother, Rex Glover. Mr. Glover is survived by his wife Mary Rose Johnson Glover of the home, one son, Donnie Glover and wife Shirley of Denton, one daughter, Kathy Garner and husband Lowe of Denton, one brother, Othel Glover of Conway, South Carolina, step-brothers Bruce Snider of Denton and Johnny Snider of Winston-Salem, and step-sister Elaine Voncannon of Denton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm Friday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Johnson Rd..
