Rachel Gallimore

Ms. Rachel Hughes Gallimore age 98, formerly of Farmer Denton Rd., Denton passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Piedmont Crossing Health Care in Thomasville. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Preacher Clyde Akers. Interment will follow at Denton Town Cemetery. Ms. Gallimore was born October 9, 1918 in Randolph County to Ollie Hughes and Relda Hill Hughes. She attended Old Fashioned Baptist Church and retired from Thornton Hosiery Mill after 40 years. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband Bill Gallimore on December 6, 2002 and by her brother Joyce Colon Hughes. Surviving are her nieces, Cathy Byrd of Charlotte and Rilda Everhart of Lexington. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30 to 3:00 pm prior to the service at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Memorials can be made to the Donor’s Choice.
