Rachel Vines Farris

Rachel Vines Farris, 92, of Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton, NC passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

A memorial service will be held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Rachel was born in Jefferson County, Alabama on December 28, 1932, the daughter of Carl Vines and Grace Quinn Vines. She attended the University of Alabama and was a longtime and active member of Columbia Baptist Church in Falls Church, Virgina where she sang in the choir. She had worked in Washington, D.C. as the executive assistant for the National Mediation Board. Rachel had a great love of music, travel, and most importantly her family.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Vines, and a sister, Betty Vines Walters.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Ellen Farris Cleghorn and husband Bill; sons, Wade Farris and wife Kim, and Steve Farris and wife Robyn; brother, Judson Vines; sisters, Celia Garner, and Edna Vines; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Mountain Vista Health Parke for the excellent care that Rachel received.
