Rachel Deaton Alford

Rachel Nadine Deaton Alford, 96, of S. main St., Candor, formerly of Rocky Mount, died Sunday, May 4, 2025 at her residence.  Graveside Service will be 2 PM Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, with Elder Michael Williams officiating.

Rachel was born December 6, 1928, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Haywood Deaton.  She had worked for the Selective Service System and was preceded in death by her husband, Garland C Alford, Jr. in 1999.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jesse Wyman Deaton and sister, Betty Ann Deaton.
