Phyllis Ann Mcdowell

Phyllis Ann McDowell, 63, of Floyd St., Denton, NC passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center.

A private graveside service was held on Thursday, March 16, at   Grubb’s Grove Church Cemetery.

Phyllis was born January 27, 1960, in Davidson County to Ja Van McDowell and Alma Vanhoy McDowell. She was a graduate of Ashmore Business College and had worked in textiles at Burlington Industries and later at Lexcom as a telephone operator.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ja Van McDowell.

She is survived by her mother, Alma Vanhoy McDowell of Denton; sisters, Rita Lineberry and her husband Jerry of Thomasville and Amy McDowell of Alexandria, VA; 2 nephews, Michael Wayne Lineberry and Phillip Jay Lineberry (Amanda); 2 great-nieces, Kalista and Chloe.

Memorials can be made to the Davidson County Public Library in Denton, NC at 310 W. Salisbury St., Denton, NC 27239.
