Mr. Phillip Roger Hughes, age 69, of Carroll St., Lexington, died Tuesday, February 1 at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral service for Mr. Hughes will be 2:00 pm Friday, February 4, 2011 at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Workman and Rev. Robert Tews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Carroll St. Mr. Hughes was born January 4, 1942 in Davidson County to Lendo Archie and Ella Bryant Hughes. He was retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries with 42 years of service. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Dorsett Hughes of the home, one daughter, Karen Cabe of Lexington and husband Woody, two brothers, Robbie Hughes of Denton and Pal Hughes of Asheboro, three sisters, Greta Wishon of Thomasville, Marnell Beeson of Thomasville and Velez Buie of Denton and one grandson, Brandon Lambeth.
