Pete Floyd

Mr. James Monroe (Pete) Floyd, Sr age 93 of Mountain Vista Health Park, Denton, NC and formerly of Hedrick Mill Road, Lexington, NC died Monday, January 4. at Mountain Vista. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 7 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. David Bowman. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. Mr. Floyd was born October 7, 1916 in Davidson County to Wylie Franklin Floyd and Caroline Belle Parks Floyd. He was a retired farmer and sawmill operator. He was married to Edith Harris Floyd who died February 13, 1979. He is survived by his son, Dr. James M. Floyd, Jr and wife Martha Ann of Thomasville; a grandson, Daniel Floyd of Thomasville; and brothers Foy Floyd, Paul Floyd and Roby Floyd all of Lexington and Arnold Floyd of Southport. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home.
